What is eVineyard?
eVineyard, Inc. is the parent corporation of a growing number of
wine-oriented businesses. eVineyard, Inc., using wine.com as its branded
storefront, is the nation’s largest online wine retailer offering wine
and other products for the wine lover. eVineyard has a strong commitment
to providing the finest products and the best service to its customers.
eVineyard, Inc. also publishes Restaurant Wine®, a newsletter for the
on-premise wine professional. This bi-monthly publication is the world's
most renowned wine newsletter for the restaurant and hospitality
industry. Restaurant Wine also provides extensive wine consulting
services to the trade and to consumers.
Our Story
Formally launched in May 1999, eVineyard has emerged as the largest
online wine retailer in the United States and the first truly national
wine retailer legally serving wine buyers in 27 states and Japan and
selling gifts and accessories in 23 more. eVineyard, Inc.’s main sales
and marketing channel is its wine.com branded website. In 2000,
eVineyard customers and revenues grew by 1000%. As a result of its
success, eVineyard announced, in April of 2001, the acquisition of
certain assets that were previously owned by leading rival Wine.com,
Inc., including the wine.com and WineShopper.com URLs, and all of the
goodwill and other assets of the wine.com service. In July of 2001,
eVineyard became "wine.com by eVineyard," significantly enhancing its
website and adopting "wine.com" as its primary brand. Thus, in just two
years, a superior business model, an extensive virtual inventory of
wines and unwavering dedication to outstanding customer service, brought
eVineyard to its present preeminent position in online wine retailing.
